683. Mendiants

Mendiants are a classic French confection that consist of a small disk of chocolate topped with your choice of dried fruits and nuts.

You need to keep in mind that the quality of chocolate used is what makes this confection.
The better the chocolate, the better the final result.
You can use your favorite chocolate too; be it dark, milk, or white chocolate.
I heightened the flavor and texture of my mendiants by finishing it off with a barely-there sprinkle of flaked sea salt.
Easy, no-bake, no-cook sweet.

Ingredients:

good-quality chocolate
nut and dried fruit mix
flaked sea salt

Method:

Melt the chopped chocolate in 20 second increments in the microwave, stirring between each burst, until three quarters are melted. Stir until completely melted and smooth.
Using a teaspoon, pour the chocolate on a silicone mat into circles.
Place your choice of nuts and dried fruit over the chocolate, finishing off with  a small sprinkle of flaked sea salt.
Leave untouched until the chocolate has completely solidified, then peel off the silicone mat and serve with a cup of espresso or Turkish coffee.
